Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik is among the poorest members in the Naveen Patnaik Cabinet with his total assets valued at over Rs 42.37 lakh.
According to the statement of property declared by Mallik in 2021, he owns assets including immovable and movable properties with a total value of Rs 42,37,527.
While the immovable assets possessed by him are worth Rs 34,00,000, the movable properties are valued at Rs 8,37,527. He has no liabilities.
The immovable properties include some agricultural land and residential houses in Baligorada and Kamhakyanagar. Mallik has Rs 38,000 cash in hand, while his wife has Rs 25,000.
Among movable assets, the Minister has a laptop, some furniture and two television sets, while his wife has gold ornaments worth Rs 2,40,000. He does not own a vehicle.

Among the ministers with assets worth less than Rs 1 crore is ST & SC Development and Law Minister Jagannath Saraka. The assets owned by him are valued at over Rs 96.78 lakh as on December 31, 2021.
Saraka has movable assets worth around Rs 45.17 lakh and immovable properties valued at over Rs 51.11 lakh.
Planning and Convergence Minister Rajendra Dholakia’s assets are valued a at little above Rs 1 crore. The total worth of all his assets is estimated at over Rs 1.17 crore. The movable assets owned by Dholakia are valued at around Rs 21 lakh while his immovable properties are worth Rs 96.40 lakh.
Similarly, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari owns assets with a total value of over Rs 2.73 crore. These include immovable properties amounting to around Rs 1.36 crore.
