Prashant Kishor Launches 3,500-Km Padayatra; What’s His Agenda?

Patna: Prashant Kishor launched a 3,500 km padayatra in Bihar on Gandhi Jayanti.

The poll strategist started his foot march from Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran’s Bhitiharwa, where Mahatma Gandhi had launched his first satyagraha movement in 1917.

There has been speculation of Kishor launching a political party since he declined an offer to join Congress earlier this year. Kishor, however, has stayed away from that path so far.

One of the goals of his padayatra is identification of the right people at grassroots level and bring them on a democratic platform. He will also work towards making a vision document for Bihar by incorporating views from experts in different fields.

“Determined to change the system in the poorest and most backward state in the country- Bihar. The first important step is the Padyatra of 3500 km in cities, villages and towns of the state in the next 12-15 months to create a new and better political system with the help of society,” Kishor tweeted just before setting off on the padayatra.
