Bhubaneswar: As a new wave of COVID-19 infection sweeps across some parts of the country and movement of people has seen a rise with the opening of all facilities by adhering to corona guidelines, the chances of the virus spreading can not be ruled out.
However, the Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET), CBK Mohanty on Saturday said the present COVID situation does not indicate any further lockdown in Odisha.
He, however, said for the time being, it can not be ruled out. The UK strain of the virus is being monitored, the DMET stated.
If the situation calls for stringent steps, measures like containment will be taken as was being done before but, for now, we do not see any need, he added.
Five states of Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing an upsurge in daily cases.
