Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will be travelling to Odisha on a two-day trip to attend the convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University on February 10.
It was the President, who had earlier evinced interest in attending the convocation of her alma mater and written to the Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Ganeshi Lal, expressing her willingness for the same, sources said.
Droupadi completed her graduation in Arts from the institute in 1979. She was conferred with an honorary degree on its first convocation after being upgraded to a full-fledged university.
She will be the chief guest at 2nd convocation of the university.
The following day, she will visit Lingaraj temple in the city and inaugurate the 2nd Indian Rice Congress at ICAR, Cuttack.
