Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled three-day visit to Odisha has been cancelled.
The news of the cancellation was confirmed by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Rairangpur, in Mayurbhanj district, where President Murmu was due to attend a number of official functions and visit her hometown.
The President was initially scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on October 28 on a two-day visit. That was postponed due to severe weather conditions caused by Cyclone Arnab.
Her travel plans were then revised — November 3, 4 and 5.
Now, President Murmu’s official Odisha tour stands cancelled. Further details regarding rescheduled dates are awaited from the President’s Secretariat and state administrative officials.
Local authorities in Mayurbhanj had made extensive arrangements for President Murmu’s reception and official engagements in Rairangpur.
