Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and several other leaders extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Diwali festival.
They called upon the people citizens to embrace harmony, compassion, and the sustainable celebration of the festival of lights.
“On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and across the world,” President Murmu said on a post on X.
Describing the festival as a symbol of the “triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil,” she also called upon citizens to use the occasion for self-reflection and self-improvement, and to support the deprived and needy, spreading joy and compassion.
The President urged everyone to celebrate responsibly. “May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all,” she said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings and wished that “this festival of lights illuminate our lives with harmony, happiness and prosperity,” while expressing hope that “the spirit of positivity prevail all around us.”
Similarly, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan extended his “warm greetings and hearty wishes to all Indians and friends of India, both in the country and abroad,” on the sacred festival.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also conveyed his Diwali wishes. “On the occasion of Deepavali, I extend greetings and congratulations to the people of the state, along with wishing happiness, peace, and prosperity to all,” CM Majhi said in a post on X.
BJP National Vice President and MP Baijayant Panda also too joined in the festive wishes, stating, “Heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all fellow countrymen on the sacred festival of Diwali. May this grand festival of lights bring happiness, peace, and prosperity into your life, and illuminate every home with the light of joy.”
