New Delhi President Ram Nath Kovid on Tuesday appointed Governors to seven states.
Thawarchand Gehlot, who currently serves as a Cabinet Minister, is the new Governor of Karnataka while Hari babu Kambhampati has appointed as Governor of Mizoram and Mangubhai Chaganbhai Patel as Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
Kambhampati is a former Lok Sabha member from Vishakhapatnam and a member of BJP’s National Executive, while Patel is a BJP leader from Gujarat.
Rajendran Vishwanath Arlekar, former Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, will take over as Governor of Himachal Pradesh. He will replace senior RSS leader Bandaru Dattatraya, who has been appointed as Governor of Haryana.
Satyadev Narayan Arya will move from Haryana to Tripura. Tripura’s current Governor Ramesh Bais has been shifted to Raj Bhawan in Jharkhand.
PS Sreedharan Pillai has been transferred from Mizoram to Goa.
