Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will confer the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2023, on 11 children, including Odisha’s Sambhab Mishra, in an award ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan on Monday.
These awards will be given to these 11 students, in the age group of 5–18 years, for their excellence in six categories — art and culture, bravery, innovation, scholastic, social service, and sports — at 5 pm.
This year, four students are being awarded in the art and culture category, one for bravery, two for innovation, one for social service and three children have been selected for the sports category.
Each awardee will get a medal, Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a certificate.
Sambhab is a writing enthusiast and innovator from Cuttack. He has a keen interest in innovating new things and writing about Indian tradition, culture, and mythology.
Below are the list of his achievements:
- Fellowship of the Prestigious Royal Asiatic Society of London, the highest honour in South Asian Humanities for his contribution in Indian mythology and socio-economic ‘and cultural happenings
- Became the youngest-ever fellow in the 200 years history of the prestigious Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland
- Entitled to use honorary post-nominal letter Fellow of Royal Asiatic Society (FRAS) with his name
- Authored his first book ‘The policy of Kalyug Brahmins’ in 2020, published by Amazon and Kindle direct publishing house, USA
- Authored his second book ‘Vijayee Bhaba Bharat’ in 2021
- Authored his third book, The Mahabharat Part-1 by Notionpress Publication
- Awarded the Associate ‘Membership of the Prestigious American Society of Civil Engineers of USA in 2021
- Awarded with The India Book of Records as well as The International Book of records for creating the smallest DIY working model of a washing machine
- Selected for the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana Scholarship (Highest High School Level Civilian Award For Stamp Collection And Related Projects Given By the Department Of Posts) in 2019 for Philately
Notably, Sambhab was applauded by former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and got ‘appreciation’ letters from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and His Holiness The Dalai Lama.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will interact with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees on Tuesday at 4 pm followed by a meeting with the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani, and Minister of State, Munjpara Mahendrabhai, official release said.
