Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department has begun the process for the reopening of the Primary and Upper Primary schools in Odisha after the Saraswati Puja.
A senior official of the department informed about the decision to reopen the classes from I to VIII after Saraswati Puja with COVID-19 guidelines. “As the Saraswati Puja falls on February 16, the Department has decided to reopen the schools in a week either on February 22 or 23,” he added.
To avoid overcrowding, students of four classes will be allowed to attend school for a duration of four hours each.
To ensure strict implementation of COVID-19 guidelines, the classes will be held in two sessions from 8 am to 4 pm. There will be separate teachers for the morning session and the post-noon session, the official said.
The school authorities have been instructed to ensure mandatory use of masks, hand sanitisers and social distancing by all students and teachers, the official added.
