New Delhi: Days after Karisma Kapoor’s legal team claimed that her daughter Samaira’s college fees were unpaid, Sunjay Kapur’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur’s lawyer provided receipts of paid fees in the court.
Denying the claims made by Karisma during a hearing over the estate of the late businessman, Priya’s lawyer on Friday showed that Rs 95 lakh per semester has already been paid.
“The next instalment of the fees is due only in December,” the legal team asserted.
During the hearing last week, Karisma’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani had claimed that Samaira’s university fees for two months had not been paid as her late ex-husband’s estate managers had not cleared payments.
Samaira, 22, is studying in the US, and her dad Sunjay was bearing the expenses of her education.
However, after Priya’s team denied the claims, calling it a publicity stunt, Justice Singh reprimanded both parties. “I don’t want to spend more than 30 seconds on this. This question should not come to my court again. I don’t want this hearing to be melodramatic.”
Sunjay died in London in June while playing polo. Samaira and Kiaan are his children from Karisma, his second wife.
