Bhubaneswar: As part of efforts to rejuvenate the party in Odisha, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is likely to visit the state in March this year to address a large women’s rally.
Announcing this on Thursday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das said the party has chalked out plans to organise women’s gatherings across ten districts during Priyanka’s tour.
Stating that Priyanka Gandhi’s presence will energise party workers and strengthen Congress outreach among women in Odisha, Das said the proposed rally will highlight women’s issues and the need for their empowerment.
Party sources said that the proposed visit of Priyanka Gandhi is part of a strategy to expand the influence of the party at the grassroots and strengthen the organisation.
The PCC chief said that the women’s rally will serve as a platform for dialogue and mobilisation. He noted that Congress leaders across districts are preparing to welcome Priyanka Gandhi and ensure strong participation.
Stating that the party aims to create awareness about women’s rights and opportunities, Das said Priyanka Gandhi’s leadership inspires confidence among women and motivates them to engage in political processes.
