New Delhi: Prof I Ramabrahman of the Central University of Hyderabad has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Odisha, Koraput.
He will hold the position for a period of five years or until the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier, said a communication by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development to the university registrar.
The VC’s post had been lying vacant since Prof Sachidananda Mohanty resigned in February this year.
In June this year, as per reports, a selection committee headed by Higher Education Secretary R Subramanyam had submitted its panel of names to the Ministry for the appointment of the new VC to the university.
