Progress Of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre Project In Odisha’s Puri Reviewed By 5T Secretary
Bhubaneswar: Secretary to the Odisha Chief Minister (5T) V K Pandian visited Puri on Saturday and reviewed the progress of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre (JBCC) and Shree Setu.
The state cabinet had in November, 2020, cleared a slew of beautification projects including the construction of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre, Market Complex and Shree Setu along with the extension of Musa River.
During his visit to the project site, Pandian spoke to the officials and inquired about the progress made so far in the construction work.
According to sources, the project seeks to facilitate the necessary infrastructure to make darshan of the sibling deities at Shree Jagannath temple in a hassle-free process for the devotees.
Being developed under the ABADHA (Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture) scheme, the project consists of a multi-level car park, a pilgrim reception center, cloakrooms, and bathing complexes. Located around 500 metres from the 12th century shrine, the centre will be directly connected to Natinoal Highway No. 316 through Shree Setu.
The ambitious project is being monitored by the Chief Minister’s Office and 5T initiative. The works department as well as the implementing agency, Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC), are taking all steps to complete it in time.
