Bhubaneswar: The South Odisha district of Ganjam has reported a progressive decline in COVID-19 positive cases, said additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra on Wednesday.
Briefing mediapersons after a video conferencing with the Ganjam collector and senior district officials at the Lok Seva Bhawan here, he said necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that no patient faces any difficulty while undergoing treatment. “To ensure proper treatment of the patients, CCTV cameras have been installed in the Tata COVID hospital in the district,” he added.
Stating that the state government has decided to increase the bed strength to another 150 at Ashwini Hospital, Mahapatra said that efforts are on to provide healthcare facility to pregnant women in the City Hospital in Berhampur.
The COVID-19 positive cases in Ganjam district, which was 331 on August 3, came down to 288 on August 4 and 201 on Wednesday (August 5).
With 117 deaths and 8136 recoveries, the district has 3552 active cases.
