Bhubaneswar: One of the projects from Odisha that participated in the ‘National Exhibition and Project Competition’ has bagged the third position in the country.
A total of 27 students, including 13 girls from Odisha, took part with different projects in the national-level project exhibition and competition held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
‘Automatic Straw Processing and Packaging Machine for Oyster Mushrooms’ developed by Shreyashan Nayak, a student from Khurda district, secured the third position.
Four other projects were also awarded in the competition organised by the National Innovation Foundation under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology, official sources said on Wednesday.
Among the other four projects, Smart Health Care prepared by Krishna Sahu from Bargarh, Development of Roller Brush by Santhi Tong from Mayurbhanj, Soldering smoke Absorber made by Sumaya Senapati from Jharsuguda district and Safe Sewing Advances of Soumya Ranjan Singh from Kalahandi district also found place among the 60 projects of the country.
Commissioner-cum- Secretary, Department of School and Mass Education, OSEPA State Project Director congratulated all the awardees, other participating students, the entire Odisha team, teachers, and parents for this special achievement.
The students together with seven teachers had left for Delhi on October 6 under the supervision of Krishnachandra Nayak, District Education Officer-cum-District Project Coordinator, Cuttack.
The exhibition started on October 9 and continued till October 10. As many as 60 top students were awarded on October 11 in the presence of Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, the sources added.
