Cuttack: The fresh 17 COVID-19 cases in the Millenium City are being suspected to have a Puducherry link. Those infected are students of an educational institution near Madhupatna here.
According to Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) sources, 35 swab samples from the school were collected for testing on Wednesday and 17 among them was found to be positive.

As a precautionary measure, all the infected have been sent on quarantine and the school closed for a month.
Contact tracing of the infected persons and follow-up action are underway, the sources added.
Earlier, 25 students of a private college in Cuttack city had tested positive for COVID-19. The college has been shut for 10 days.

Notably, the city has been witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases for the past three days. Another 26 were found infected on Saturday.
