Puri Jagannath Temple Finalises Schedule Of Rituals For Rath Yatra
Puri: The Shree Jagannathe Temple Administration (SJTA) finalised the schedule of the rituals from Snana Purnima to Niladri Bje of Lord Jagannath in Puri at a Chhattisha Nijog meeting on Sunday.
SJTA Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar chaired the meeting.
According to SJTA sources, Snana Yatra will be held on June 24. The schedule is:
Mangalarpana: 1 am
Pahandi: from 1 am to 4 am
Mangal Arati:4.30 am
Jala Lagi ritual: 7.30 am to 9.30 am
Chhera Panhara: 10.30 am
Hathi Besa: 11 am to 12 pm
Bahuda Pahandi: 5 pm to 8 pm
The Rath Yatra will be held on July 12. The schedule is:
Rath Pratishtha: 8 am
Pahandi: 8.30 am
Chhera Panhara: 2 pm
Chariot pulling ritual: 3 pm onwards
Bahuda will be held on July 20. The schedule is:
Pahandi: 12 pm to 2.30 pm
Chariot pulling: 4 pm
Sunabesha will be held on July 21, The schedule is:
Sunabesha: 4 pm to 5.30 pm
Besha Olagi: 11 pm to 12 am
Likewise, on the day of Niladribije on July 23, the Pahandi ritual will start 4 pm and conclude at 10 pm.
Notably, no persons except the sevayats will be allowed to participate in the rituals of Rath Yatra this year due to COVID-19.
Sevayats having final vaccination certificate or found negative in RT-PCR test done within 48 hours before the Rath Yatra can participate in the rituals.
The rituals will be performed with bare minimum sevayats as was the case last year.
