Puri: A day after Lord Jagannath and His siblings reached Gundicha temple in chariots, They were taken in a procession to the Adapa Mandap of the temple on Wednesday.
The Goti Pahandi (procession of the deities one by one) of the Lords began in the afternoon after the sevayats performed the rituals atop the three chariots. After Pushpanjali was offered, the servitors took the idols of Ramakrushna and Madanmohan to the temple at 5.35 pm and Lord Sudarshan at 5.55 pm as per schedule.
This was followed by the pahandi of Lord Baladhadra at 6.30 pm, Devi Subhadra at 6.40 pm, and Lord Jagannath at 7 pm.
Unlike previous years, the devotees will not be allowed to have darshan of the Lords on the Adapa Mandap this year in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Briefing the media after the pahandi, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Krishan Kumar and Puri Collector Balwant Singh said arrangments have been made for the Mahaprasad Bhog of the Lords for the devotees from Thursday.
However, they said due to the COVID restrictions, a place will be identified for the distribution of Mahaprasad. To avoid a large congregation of the devotees for the Mahaprasad, token system will be put in place. The detailed arrangements for the distribution of Mahaprasad will be announced on Thursday.
They also informed that the technical team of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will begin the routine inspection of the structural status of the garbha griha (sanctum sanctorum), Nata Mandap, and Jagmohan of the main temple from Thursday.
