Puri: Elaborate arrangements have been made by Odisha Police for effective traffic management to ensure convenience of devotees during Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and siblings at Puri on Monday.
Similar arrangements are also being made for the convenience of visitors during Suna Besha of the deities of Shree Jagannath Temple on July 17, police said.
After overwhelming response and cooperation received from devotees resulting in excellent traffic management during Shree Gundicha Rath Yatra, Odisha Police is going a step ahead again for Bahuda and Suna Besha, the state police said in a post on X.
Devotees visiting the pilgrim town to witness Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha will be able to get real time traffic update as AI is being used for traffic control.
A WhatsApp chat group has also been created. It has a QR scanner. A person can easily know about the traffic system through this QR scanner code. People can use WhatsApp number 9909907675 in order to get the traffic updates.
Sources said CCTVs have been connected with AI. A large number of drones will be flown to monitor the crowd. The drone will feed the control room with information. Passengers will get assistance through WhatsApp.

In total, 50 platoon forces and 450 officers have been deployed for traffic management. Three lane traffic has been arranged at Maltipatpur on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway.
Similar one-way traffic arrangements will be made on Suna Besha day as on Rath Yatra.
