Hyderabad: PV Sindhu and Venkata Datta Sai are man and wife now.
India’s ace shuttler and the Hyderabad-based entrepreneur tied the knot in a traditional Telugu ceremony in Udaipur on December 22.
With close family and friends in attendance, the couple embraced the auspicious occasion in Rajasthan’s beautiful city of lakes.
The couple it yet to share photos of the wedding. Interestingly, the first image of the marriage was shared by Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, one of the invitees.
“Pleased to have attended the wedding ceremony of our Badminton Champion Olympian PV Sindhu with Venkatta Datta Sai in Udaipur last evening and conveyed my wishes & blessings to the couple for their new life ahead,” Shekhawat wrote on his X handle alongside a picture from the ceremony.
Double Olympic medallist Sindhu is seen wearing a cream-colored saree, pairing it with matching jewellery and accessories, while the groom complemented her attire in a matching cream sherwani.
Sindhu had earlier shared a picture of their engagement ceremony.
The wedding festivities kicked off on December 20 with a Sangeet ceremony, followed by Haldi, Pellikuthuru, and Mehendi rituals the next day.
Double Olympic medallist Sindhu and Datta Sai, Executive Director of Posidex Technologies, will host a reception in their hometown Hyderabad, on December 24.
According to Sindhu’s father, the families have known each other for a long time, but the wedding arrangements were made within a couple of months. The couple decided on the date strategically, as Sindhu’s training and competitive schedule for next year are already packed.
