Bhubaneswar: The private bus owners have decided to launch an indefinite state-wide strike from November 1 to press for their five-point charter of demands.
A decision in this regard was taken at the general council meeting of private bus owners’ association on Saturday.
“As the meeting with the officials of the transport department convened on October 3 over various issues failed to yield any result, we have decided to launch an indefinite strike across the state seeking immediate fulfillment of our demands including withdrawal of toll fee hike,” said association secretary Debendra Sahu.
The association also opposes the state government’s decision to vest Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) powers on police, he added.
