Quack Killed In Odisha’s Ganjam; Locals Spot Miscreants While Burying Body

Berhampur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly killed a quack and attempted to bury the body when they were spotted by locals near Gunduripalli road under Khallikote police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased was identified as Jay Mohanty of Sankuda village under the jurisdiction of Kodala police station in the district.

According to sources, Jay had been treating people in various villages of Badapalli panchayat and had also gone out for work on Friday like every other day. However, he did not return home till late at night.

Meanwhile, some locals spotted the accused group of miscreants while they were allegedly burying Mohanty’s body. On seeing the locals, the miscreants fled the spot. After identifying Mohanty’s body, the locals informed his family and Khallikote police.

On getting the information, the cops arrived at the spot along with the scientific team and recovered the body. The body was sent for an autopsy and a probe was initiated to ascertain the exact cause behind the alleged murder. Police also seized his bicycle and shoes from the spot. Efforts are on to trace the miscreants.
