Rahul Dravid’s Name Proposed As Coach For England’s Cricket Team
New Delhi: After guiding India to victory in the ICC T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa in the final, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Rahul Dravid’s coaching future following the conclusion of his contract with the BCCI. India’s exceptional performance under his guidance ended a 13-year ICC trophy drought, solidifying Dravid’s legacy as a successful coach.
Notably, Gautam Gambhir has replaced Dravid as the head coach of the Indian cricket team
Now, Eoin Morgan has proposed Rahul Dravid as a possible successor for Matthew Mott as white-ball coach for England, after the teams’s underwhelming T20 World Cup performance, according to a report in Republic.
Morgan said in an interview with Sky Sports that Rob Key must make the England white-ball coaching post enticing as well as it might be. The former England captain also said that this strategy will let the ECB draw highly respected coaches for the post. Eoin Morgan said:
Dravid expressed his willingness to transition to a new phase after the victory in the T20 World Cup final, humorously acknowledging that he would be jobless once he departs from his current role. The ex-India coach emphasised his desire for a seamless transition after the triumph. Rahul Dravid said to BCCI: With many reports hinting at his return to focusing on an IPL franchise, there haven’t been any official announcements on his future.
