Rahul Gandhi Books Date With Odisha For Next 3 Months

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is already feeling the election heat with leaders of all major parties marking a date with the electorate here.

According to AICC Odisha In-charge Jitendra Singh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit the state every month till the general elections.

“Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Odisha on January 25, his first tour to the state in 2019. He will attend public rallies and meet party workers during this visit. Besides, he is scheduled to visit the state every month for the next three months”, he said on Wednesday.

Singh said the party would target both the ruling BJD and the BJP, which have betrayed the people.

He said that the Gandhi family shares a special bond with Odisha. “There is a special place in their heart for the people of this state, especially the tribal and the underprivileged,” he said.

On several leaders quitting the party in the recent past, Singh said they might have some vested interest. “This is an indicator that both the ruling BJD and BJP are afraid of Congress and therefore, luring its leaders to widen their support base ahead of the elections.”
