Bhubaneswar: Congress stalwart and leader of opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Odisha during November and December, this year as part of efforts to strengthen the party organisation in the state.
The party is chalking out plans for organising mega events during the proposed visit of Rahul Gandhi to the state, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das said on Saturday.
While attending the events, the senior Congress leader would highlight major issues such as alleged vote theft, poverty, and safety and security of women, he said.
Rahul is slated to hold roadshows, address massive public meetings, and participate in various programmes in several districts. He will tour different parts of the state and interact with people apart from attending big events.
Stating that the exact date for Rahul’s Odisha visit is yet to be finalised, the PCC chief said a clear picture is likely to emerge soon.
State Congress leaders are of the view that Rahul Gandhi’s visit will play a significant role in rejuvenating the party in Odisha. It will also be of immense help in energising the party workers at the grassroots level, besides highlighting major issues before the people.
