Bhubaneswar: Due to poor turnout of passengers and a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Indian Railways has decided to cancel the services of five special trains under East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction.
—08417/08418 Puri-Gunupur-Puri Special from Puri from May 5 and from Gunupur from May 6.
—08303/08304 Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Special from both directions from May 5.
—08425/08426 Puri-Durg-Puri Special from Puri from May 5 and from Durg from May 6.
—09371/09372 Indore-Puri-Indore Special from Indore from May 4 and from Puri from May 6.
—02204/02203 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special from Secunderabad from May to 31 and from Visakhapatnam from May 4 to June 1.
On the other hand, the Indian Railways has decided to run a Special Train between Secunderabad and Guwahati.
As per the schedule, the 07030/07029 Secunderabad-Guwahati-Secunderabad Special from Secunderabad will leave at 7.30 am every Sunday between May 9 and 30. In the return journey, the train will leave Guwahati at 7.45 am every Wednesday from May 12 to June 2 with stoppage at Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Berhampur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Bhadrak in ECoR jurisdiction along with important stations between Secunderabad and Guwahati.
