Bhubaneswar: Some places in Odisha are likely to get a break from the sweltering heat with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting rain in the days ahead.
According to IMD’s midday bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on March 12.
The rest of Odisha will witness dry weather.
It has also forecast shallow to moderate fog very at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput till 8.30 am on Wednesday (March 10).
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar, which was back as the hottest place in India with 40.4 degree Celsius on March 6, saw a drop in mercury on Monday. The city recorded 34.9 degree Celsius.
The highest maximum temperature of 39.0oC was recorded at Bhawanipatna and Boudh.

With the Met office predicting the maximum temperature to remain 2-3 degree Celsius above normal, the day can get a little hotter in the Odisha capital on Tuesday. It has forecast 36 degree Celsius for the city.
