Rain Forecast For Odisha Till Feb 2; Dense Fog To Engulf These Districts For Next 2 days

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has forecast rain and dense fog for Odisha in the next few days.

According to the mid-day bulletin on Wednesday, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and one or two places in the rest districts of North Odisha and Khurdha, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir districts of South Odisha from 8.30 am of January 29 to 8.30 am of January 30.

During this period, one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur are likely to experience thunderstorm and lightning.

A thick blanket of fog is also likely to engulf one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Sonepur and Balangir on these days.

The Met office has issued dense fog warning for Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kandhamal and Kalahandi from 8.30 am of January 30 to 8.30 am of January 31.

Thundershower will continue on February 1 and 2 at one or two places in South Coastal Odisha and Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Gajapati, the bulletin further said.

The shallow fog is likely to bring down the night temperature by  30C to 50C in North Interior Odisha in the next  2-3 days, it added.
