Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar scaled down its warning level from Sunday with rain likely to subside across Odisha.
“The deep depression over south Jharkhand and adjoining north Odisha moved west-northwestwards during the past six hours at a speed of 20 kmph and lay centered at 11:30 am Saturday over southwest Jharkhand and adjoining northwest Odisha and north Chhattisgarh near latitude 22.8°N and longitude 84.8°E, about 150 km west of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), 70 km southwest of Ranchi (Jharkhand) and 120 km northeast of Jharsuguda (Odisha),” the Met department said.
It will continue to move west-northwestwards across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh towards north Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours and weaken gradually.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha.

Squally winds reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha coasts during next 12 hours, which will decrease gradually thereafter. Strong winds reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph likely to prevail over interior districts (Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj) of north Odisha during next 12 hours.
