Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued nowcast warning for several districts in Odisha till 4.30 pm on Tuesday.
Light to moderate Rain, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph likely in some parts of Khurda, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Balangir in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda were the hottest in the state at 39.8 degree Celsius by 11.30 am followed Hirakud (39.2) and Sambalpur (39). The day temperature may touch 43 degree Celsius at 3 places – Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir. Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are is likely to record 41 and 40 degree Celsius respectively, an IMD forecast said.
On Monday, Sambalpur recorded the highst maximum temperature of 42.6 degree Celsius followed by Hirakud (41.6), Sonepur (41.4) and Baripada, Titlagarh and Rourkela at 41 degree Celsius each. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered a temperature of 40.1 and 38.5 degree Celsius respectively.
