Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain may continue in 14 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 5.30 pm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
Yellow warning has been sounded for Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Ganjam, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, Kadhamal, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Balasore and Gajapati. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.
According to the midday bulletin, light to moderate rain/thundershower may continue at a few places across the state till October 5.
While there will be scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain/thundershower till October 10, a low-pressure area may form over west-central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around October 6, the IMD said in its extended weather outlook for Odisha.
The state has so far recoded 1090.8 mm against its normal value of 1144.3 mm between June 1 and September 9. While two districts have received excess rainfall, 24 are in normal category and 4 in deficient category.
