Bhubaneswar: Going by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, rain is likely to play a spoilsport in Holi celebrations in 14 districts of Odisha on Tuesday.
Talking to the media here, duty officer of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Madan Mohan Das said the weather in Odisha will remain dry on Monday and rainfall activity will begin from Tuesday with light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal districts.
Apart from this, there will be light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places in North interior districts and at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir and Nayagarh on Wednesday. Similar weather conditions will prevail in North interior districts, Balangir, Sonepur, Nuapada, Boudh and Balasore distructs on Thursday, he said.
Das also said that the IMD has issued a three-day yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for the following districts.

Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.
Meanwhile, the rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Monday was the highest in Rayagada with 10.2 mm followed by Koraput (9.4), Balasore (8.6), Paralakhemundi (6.8), Gopalpur (6.4), Chandbali (4.7) and Chhatrapur (4).
