Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for eight districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 3 pm on Sunday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely in some parts of Khurda, Cuttack, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nayagarh, and Keonjhar districts. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The MeT office had earlier forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places across the state during the day. While light rain is likely to continue for another few days, yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning has been issued for several districts from Monday.
Paradip & Bhubaneswar had recorded 3 cm rainfall each on Saturday, the IMD said.
