Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning in some parts of five districts of Odisha till 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
The weather condition will prevail in Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Deogarh, Sambalpur, Boudh and Sonepur in the next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area along West Bengal and Odisha coasts has become well marked. The remnant of Gulab is also likely to intensify into a depression in the northeast Arabian Sea and neighbouring areas from September 30, the IMD said.
Cyclone Gulab had made landfall in Andhra Pradesh on September 26 and also impacted Odisha.
