Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for 10 districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 1.10 pm on Friday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower may affect some parts of Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Keonjhar, Dhankanal, Mayurbhanj, Gnajam, Gajapati and Puri in three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.
On Thursday, heavy rain disrupted life in Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Dhenkanal. All schools in Puri district were shut and tourists faced severe inconvenience due to waterlogging at Sun Temple, Konark. Incessant rains for over three days triggered by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal submerged several area in Kendrapara district. In Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts, the rising water levels in the Jalaka river, which is flowing near the warning mark at Mathani in Basta block, also raised fears of fresh flooding.
According to IMD, the wet spell will continue till Friday and the intensity of rain reduce from Saturday.
