Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall or thundershower in nine districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
Talking to the media on Monday, duty officer of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Charana Behera said that under the influence of two cyclonic circulations—one over the south Konkan and Goa coast and the another over central parts of Bangladesh—there will be light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nuapada districts in the next 24 hours.
He also said that the IMD has also issued yellow warning for dense fog at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Angul districts during the period.
Asked about the fall in the night temperature, Behera said that the temperature will fall by about 2-3 degree Celsius at most places of the state in the next 48 hours. “However, there will be no cold wave condition as the average night temperature in the state is around 15 degree Celsius,” he pointed out.
