Sundargarh: The district administration on Tuesday declared a 10-day lockdown in Rajgangpur Municipality and its periphery area from Wednesday in view of the steady rise in COVID-19 positive cases.
As informed by Sundargarh collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, the following restrictions will be put in place in Rajgangpur Municipality during the lockdown period:
— All shops, hotels (takeaway only), vegetable markets, non-veg markets, roadside business activities will remain open from 6 am to 2 pm.
— No movement and assembly of people after 2 pm.
— Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, medicine stores and movement of the ambulance will function as usual.
— The offices of the district and municipal administration, police, Fire Services, Central and state government, and PSUs will remain open for emergency services.
— Telecom services, filling stations, print and electronic media, water supply, electricity supply and distribution, ATMs, critical financial institutions and clearing houses shall remain open.
— Movement of goods and goods carriers, whether loaded or unloaded /road transport on highways, road movement of transiting vehicles /movement of public transport, private vehicles and taxis to and from the railway station and bus terminals will be allowed to operate.
— Marriages and funerals can be held with the permission of appropriate authority as per the COVID norms.
— Dhabas along the National and State Highways/major roads will be open for takeaway only.
LPG distribution, home delivery of cooking gas and associated facilities and newspaper hawkers shall be allowed.
Any person violating these restrictions will be prosecuted as per the provisions of Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section 288 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable, the collector said.
