Bhubaneswar: A day after quitting Congress, Rajkishore Behera on Friday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the saffron party’s state headquarters here.
On Thursday, Behera had resigned from the primary membership of the Congress and tendered his resignation to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik.

Speculation is rife that Behera may contest the Tirtol bypoll as a BJP candidate.
He had unsuccessfully contested the 2009 and 2014 assembly elections from this constituency as a Congress candidate.
