Bhubaneswar: The Raksha Bandhan is celebrated in different temples of the state amid COVID restrictions on Sunday.
The festival is also celebrated as Jhulana Purnima, Sravana Purnima and Gahma Purnima (birthday of Lord Balaram).
For the celebration of the birthday of Lord Balaram, the ISKCON temple in Bhubaneswar and the deities have been decked up. Though the festival is not celebrated in a grand way with participation of the devotees due to the COVID restrictions, all the rituals associated with the holy day are performed by the priests.
For the convenience of the devotees, the temple authorities have made online arrangement for darshan of the deities and viewing the celebration.
Notably, the working committee of the ISKCON temple has decided to reopen the temple on September 1, while other temples in the city will reopen on Monday.
