Hyderabad: Telugu superstar Ram Charan was mobbed by enthusiastic fans as he arrived at Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills here on Sunday to visit his wife, entrepreneur Upasana Konidela, and their newborn twins, a baby boy and a baby girl.
The couple welcomed the twins late on Saturday night. The joyful arrival marks their second foray into parenthood, following the birth of their daughter, Klin Kaara, in June 2023.
Proud grandfather and megastar Chiranjeevi was the first to share the heartwarming news on social media, describing the moment as one of “pure joy and divine blessing.” In his post, he wrote: “With immense joy and a heart full of gratitude, we are happy to share that @AlwaysRamCharan and @upasanakonidela have been blessed with twins – a baby boy and a baby girl. Both the babies and the mother are healthy and doing well.”
Soon, fans gathered outside the hospital, cheering, distributing sweets, and waiting to catch a glimpse of the family. The atmosphere resembled a festival, reflecting the immense popularity of Ram Charan, especially after his global success with RRR. However, the enthusiasm turned chaotic when Ram Charan arrived at the hospital accompanied by his two-year-old daughter. Viral videos showed the actor struggling to navigate through the surging crowd, protecting his child in his arms as security personnel attempted to manage the situation.
The couple’s journey into parenthood has been closely followed by fans, especially after Upasana announced her second pregnancy in October 2025. However, social media users widely criticised the mobbing, calling for greater respect and caution, especially around family moments in sensitive places like hospitals.
In a joint statement later, Ram Charan and Upasana expressing their gratitude: “Happy to share that we have been blessed with a baby boy & girl. … Having two daughters and a son fills us with gratitude.” They thanked fans and loved ones for their unwavering support, with Ram Charan highlighting the women in his life as his “greatest strength.” The couple also shared hopes of raising their children to be “strong yet compassionate” and aware of their privileges.
The announcement triggered an outpouring of congratulations from across Tollywood and beyond. Directors, co-stars, and industry colleagues flooded social media with warm wishes. Director Buchi Babu Sana, who worked with Ram Charan on Peddi, was among the first to extend his wishes. The news also reignited discussions about Ram Charan’s upcoming projects, including his work on films like Peddi, and how the busy actor will balance his professional commitments with fatherhood to three young children.
