New Delhi: Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan was admitted to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute on Sunday with congestion in lungs and acute kidney failure, Economic Times (ET) reported.
Doctors at the hospital treating him said that he was stable and they were keeping a close watch on his condition.
ET further quoted doctors as saying that the minister has a pre-existing heart condition. In 2017, he underwent heart surgery in London to fix a leaky heart valve by fitting a device. Earlier he also underwent angioplasty, mitral valve clip.
“He has multiple issues. Due to his pre-existing heart conditions, he is inoperable and has poor heart function. He is on medication right now and we are keeping a close watch on his condition,” ET quoted a doctor as saying on the condition of anonymity.
