Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ Trailer To Premiere At San Diego

Mumbai: Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, one of the most anticipated Indian films, is set to make its global debut at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026, with lead stars Ranbir Kapoor and Yash attending the event.

The makers have announced that the film’s theatrical trailer will be unveiled on July 24. It is expected to offer a closer look at Ramayana’s grand scale, compelling storytelling, and stunning visuals ahead of its Diwali release.

“FROM BHARAT TO THE WORLD. For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma,. maryada, courage and compassion. Now, it begins a new journey. One of Bharat’s greatest civilisational epics, presented to the world, at a scale never attempted before in Indian cinema. THE RAMAYANA TRAILER PREMIERES WORLDWIDE ON 24TH JULY ,” read the announcement,

The ‘Ramayana’ panel will be held on July 23 at 3:15 pm PDT (3.15 am IST on July 24) in Ballroom 20, the second-largest venue at San Diego Comic-Con, which can accommodate around 4,800 attendees.

Producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari will be present along with Ranbir, who plays Lord Ram, and Yash, who portrays Ravana.

“In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice, and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos,” says the official SDCC listing.

Ahead of the film’s release, the makers of Ramayana have launched a first-of-its-kind nationwide school outreach campaign to introduce young audience to the epic beyond the big screen.

Launched on July 9, the initiative will cover over 400 schools across 18 cities and is expected to engage more than five lakh students.

Under the theme ‘Hamara Satya. Hamara Itihaas,’ children will take part in drawing competitions, quizzes, creative activities, and interactive sessions, encouraging them and their families to reconnect with the timeless stories and values of the Ramayana.

Talking about the initiative, the makers said, “Ramayana has lived on for generations through stories, values and shared memory. With this school outreach initiative, our endeavour is to take that legacy to young minds in an engaging and meaningful way. As we build towards bringing Ramayana to the big screen, we wanted children to experience the epic not just as mythology they have heard of, but as a story of courage, duty, love and righteousness that continues to inspire even today.”

‘Ramayana’ will be released in two parts — the first instalment hitting theatres during Diwali 2026, and the second one slated to be released on Diwali 2027.
