Jamshedpur: Odisha’s final match in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season is poised for an exciting finish.

Odisha’s bowlers started the day well to ensure a 19-run first-innings lead. Jharkhand, starting the day on 244/6, were dismissed for 263. Debutant Sayed Tufayl Ahmad finished with 4/78 and Govinda Poddar bagged 3/71.

Skipper Subhranshu Senapati then took it upon himself to anchor Odisha’s second innings. After openers Swastik Samal (18) and Sandeep Pattnaik (20) were back in the pavilion with 45 on the board, Senapati stitched a solid 87-run partnership with Anil Parida. The consistent Parida (28) showed good temperament and application in his 98-ball vigil to guide Odisha to a position of strength.

Senapati’s 73-run knock (145 balls, 5×4) ended with the total on 162 as Odisha suffered a collapse, losing 5 wickets for the addition of 40 runs.

Odisha will hope to add at least 30 more runs, and will bank on Govinda Poddar who is unbeaten on 22.

BRIEF SCORES

Odisha first innings: 282

Jharkhand first innings: 263 (Robin Minz 52; Sayed Tufayl Ahmad 4/78, Govinda Poddar 3/71).

Odisha second innings: 202/8 (Subhranshu Senapati 73, Anil Parida 28; Anukul Roy 4/56, Aditya Singh 3/69).

Match to conclude on Sunday.
