Ranji Trophy: Odisha Concede Big Lead Against Jiwanjot-Powered Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Odisha were pushed to the back foot in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group A fixture, with Uttarakhand on course to building a big first-innings lead.

Replying to Odisha’s 213, Uttarakhand reached 308/3 at stumps on the second day at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy ground here.

Skipper Jiwanjot Singh defied Odisha’s bowlers to be unbeaten on 174 on Wednesday. The opener, who has struck 28 boundaries in his 306-ball knock so far, put on 138 runs for the unbroken fourth-wicket partnership with Swapnil Singh (batting 60).

Suryakant Pradhan and Subham Nayak bagged one wicket each, while No. 3 Kunal Chandela was run out by skipper Subhranshu Senapati.

On the opening day, Odisha were dismissed for 213 in 76 overs. There were a few useful scores, but none of the Odisha batsmen got to 50.
