Cuttack: Odisha thrashed Assam by an innings and 3 runs on the fourth and last day of their Ranji Trophy Group C match at the DRIEMS ground here on Tuesday.
Resuming their overnight second innings score at 102 for no loss, the visitors began to lose wickets at regular intervals and were all out for 195. Barring Subham Mandal (74), Kunal Saikia (72) and Arup Das (13), eight batsmen failed to reach double figures.
For Odisha, Rajesh Mohanty took four wickets, while Suryakanta Pradhan and Debabrata Pradhan bagged three wickets each.
For his all-round performance, Debabrata Pradhan was adjudged Man of the Match.
In reply to 436 runs by Odisha in their first innings, Assam were all out for 238 in the first innings and were forced a follow-on by Odisha captain Subhranshu Senapati.
This was the fifth win of Odisha in the 2019-20 Ranji season. Out of the six matches played earlier, Odisha have won against Chhattisgarh, Services, Uttarakhand and Haryana, drawn the match with Tripura and lost to Jammu & Kashmir.
