Mumbai: Ranveer Singh, basking in the success of ‘Dhurandhar’ and its sequel, met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur.
According to reports, the actor arrived at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at around 4 pm on Friday, and proceeded straight to the RSS headquarters in Mahal, where he spent nearly 90 minutes.
Ranveer’s visit to the RSS office comes at a time when ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is performing exceptionally well at the box office.
Photos circulating on social media showed Ranveer dressed in a simple all-white kurta-pyjama for the visit.
During his time there, he met the RSS chief who discussed his film. The actor was briefed on the organisation’s activities and service initiatives.
Ranveer also visited Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir, where he paid tribute to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and former chief Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.
‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’, directed by Aditya Dhar, has emerged as a massive commercial success since its release on March 19, having crossed Rs 1,600 crore gross worldwide.
However, the film has also sparked debate, with some critics calling it propaganda.
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently responded to the criticism on X, defending the film, its director, and Ranveer.
Vanga criticised what he described as selective outrage and praised the sequel.
“Writers & actors built careers on propaganda, and the industry stayed quiet like cats. Now the same clan mock Dhurandhar. You don’t get to call yourself liberal if your first instinct is to Mock. Don’t know when truth started getting labeled as propaganda…… strange times. COMING TO THE POINT….. I want to tell @AdityaDharFilms & @RanveerOfficial yeh kaala drishti aise nahi jaayega… Muthi bhar ke laal mirch se kaam nahi chalega…. poora khet jalana padega. Watched #Dhurandhar2TheRevenge last night…. Outstanding film,” the filmmaker wrote.
