Puri: Rath Yatra is not a festival for only human beings. It is celebrated by all living beings on the earth, said Gajapati Dibysingha Deb on Tuesday.
On the day of Rath Yatra, the Lords come out of their abode so that all living beings, Gods and Goddesses can have their darshan, the Puri king said before ‘Chhera Pahanra’.
He said though Bada Danda (Grand Road) devoid of devotees on Rath Yatra has hurt him, it is the wish of the Lords. “The Rath Yatra is a celebration for the entire creation of the God. Since the devotees cannot be physically present due to the prevailing condition, we should participate in it through devotion and prayer,” the Gajapati said.
