Mumbai: Actor Sai Pallavi has shared her key takeaway from the Ramayana, saying the epic encourages people to recognise the Ravana within themselves and work towards becoming better individuals.
She emphasised that Ravana should not be viewed as entirely evil, highlighting the importance of introspection, self-correction and personal growth.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and director Nitesh Tiwari attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Ramayana’ at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, where Sai spoke about the film and what she hopes international audiences will take away from the Indian epic.
“If one is curious about Indian culture, Indian epics, I think this could be the start where you see the best version of Ramayana that exists,” she said.
Sai also highlighted the film’s technical aspects, pointing to the involvement of leading technicians and the use of advanced visual effects.
Speaking about the epic’s deeper message, she added, “At the same time, as a scripture, I think, if you are a believer, and you would see, try to introspect, and see what good and bad exists in you, and you learn to correct yourself over time. Because Ravana is not all bad. And it’s important that we spot the Ravana in us, and we make changes over time.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is a two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, with music composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
Reportedly mounted on a budget of ₹4,000 crore, the two-part franchise will see its first instalment release in theatres on November 5, 2026, while the second part is expected to arrive around Diwali 2027.
