Bhubaneswar: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) here is observing the 10th edition of its Financial Literacy Week (FLW) from February 24-28.
The theme for FLW 2025 is ‘Financial Literacy-Women’s Prosperity’, which prioritises financial literacy for women considering their crucial role as stakeholders in financial inclusion. The campaign emphasises on ‘Financial Planning’, ‘Saving and risk management’ and ‘Availing credit for growth’ with special focus on homemakers, working women and women entrepreneurs.
At the inaugural function. Regional Director, RBI Bhubaneswar, Dr. Sarada Prasan Mohanty emphasised on the need for financial literacy and understanding the risks and rewards associated with making financial decisions in the rapidly evolving financial landscape.
Further, he reiterated on prioritising financial literacy for women considering their multifaceted role in society.
The content and ways of spreading financial awareness among the women target groups were discussed in detail. Besides, a Nukkad Natak based on the theme and sub themes was played at the event.
During the week, RBI Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with banks and other stakeholders, will organise awareness programmes and outreach activities in all 30 districts of Odisha. It has also undertaken a centralised mass media campaign on the messages of the FLW 2025 through major television, radio channels and social media channels.
General Manager, RBI, Anita Patnaik welcomed the participants. S K Talukdar, CGM, NABARD; Dr. Pragyansmita Sahoo, DIF, Finance Department, and Goutam Patra, GM & SLBC Convenor, Odisha, were also present.
The inaugural function was also attended by senior officials of RBI, state government, NABARD, SIDBI, various banks and representatives from each target group.
