Kendrapada/Cuttack: All religious places in Kendrapada and Cuttack districts, except those under Cuttack Municipal Corporation limits, will reopen for devotees from Wednesday.
The Kendrapada administration said that the places of worship will be opened with strict adherence to COVID guidelines. Children below 10 years, pregnant women and the elderly (60+) have been advised against visiting these places. “Priests will undergo COVID-19 test on a regular basis,” the notification added.
Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani to the media that people visiting the religious institutions have to follow the COVID-19 guidelines. “No congregation and function will be allowed on such premises. The CMC will take a decision on reopening temples in Cuttack city,” he added.
Notably, the state government, while announcing the unlock guidelines for August, had left the decision to reopen religious places on municipal commissioners and district collectors.
